The workshop ECHOING BORDERS: THE SHELTER, THE CAMP, THE CITY, AND THE STATE addresses the necessity for understanding and analyzing the evolution of ‘temporary settlements’ in relation to the place of the refugee in contemporary migration politics in the region. Echoing Borders: The Shelter, The Camp, The City, The State is a comprehensive series of workshops to be held in both Amman and Istanbul that aims to tackle the questions raised by the worldwide refugee crisis. Over the course of the workshops, the reasons and the spaces of forced migrations to Turkey and Jordan will be studied.
