About

a) To conduct scientific and interdisciplinary research on the demographic, social, economic, cultural, spatial, and environmental dimensions of Istanbul; to ensure the implementation and advancement of these studies; and to make the resulting knowledge and findings accessible for the benefit of academia and society.

b) To contribute to the sustainable development of the city by strengthening the links between Istanbul’s past, present, and future; and to generate innovative solutions in line with contemporary academic approaches while preserving its cultural and historical values.

c) To establish platforms for collaboration among academia, public institutions, civil society, and international stakeholders through research and practical activities, thereby contributing to Istanbul’s position as one of the leading cities in global knowledge production.
