Abstract

In the study, the risk process, which constitutes the theoretical methodology of the model, is limited to the regeneration of buildings within the framework of the contamination and deterioration relationship between buildings and related environmental systems that can be considered in the context of environmental risks in brownfields. The Delphi Technique used in the empirical method is configured in three parts (Figure A) within the scope of the evaluation of the information that generated the data, the processing of the data and the output product. Purpose: The aim of the study is to create an environmental risk-based model, to create the right action plans through interdisciplinary work, and to reduce or prevent the negative impacts on the building, the associated environment and the user that may be caused by risks due to contamination and deterioration in the regeneration and life cycle of buildings in brownfields. Theory and Method: In the model proposal for the regeneration of buildings in brownfields in the context of contamination and deterioration, environmental risk assessment was used as the theoretical method to ensure the healthy regeneration of the area within the scope of the building and related environmental systems. As an experimental method, the Delphi Technique was used for data analysis, which can bring together experts from different disciplines for data analysis, allowing them to make joint evaluations as participants, measuring and supporting the judgments of the study and the model. Results: As a result of the evaluation of the information generating the data, the processing of the data and the model proposed as an output product with the Delphi Technique, a consensus was reached in the expert opinions. Conclusion: An environmental risk-based model for the renovation of buildings on brownfield soils in the context of contamination and deterioration is proposed, consisting of main and sub-steps that are successive and interrelated. The proposed model is compared with studies in different fields.
