Özet

Morphological properties of hairs of different species, are determined based on macroscopic criteria (such as size, form, diameter, colour etc) and microscopic criteria, based on cuticular, cortex and medullary properties are used (Firat etal., 1988a, Firat et al., 1988b., Bhayani and Vyas, 1991, Koul etal., 1987). Scanning electron microscopic (SEM) studies of hairs have been performed to study the properties of cuticular cells in particular Hess et al., 1985, Manal and Abd EL-Nasser, 2002). SEM is preferred because it enables 3-dimensional imaging (Dincer et al. 2004, Broecke et .al 2001).
