Özet

Under ground excitations resulting from strong earthquakes, structures suffer from high magnitude vibration motions that may be dangerous or disturbing for people. For that reason, several structural control systems have been proposed. Two of these systems are tuned mass dampers (TMD) and tuned liquid dampers (TLCDs). In this study, these two systems were compared by making dynamic analyses of structures under earthquake ground motions. For tuning of these systems, classical methods are used. The TLD system was considered as a simplified two degree of freedom model that consists of the motions non-sloshing and sloshing.
