insanların değerleri, inançları, yaşayış tarzları hakkında bilgi veren yer adları, birbirinden çok farklı çağrışımları, kültürel hinterlandı, etnik ve filolojik zenginliği içerir. Elazığ’ın Karakoçan ilçesinde de anlatılan bir menkıbede
7 kardeşin hikâyesi ve bu 7 kardeşin ismini verdiği köyler vardır. Günümüzde her ne kadar bu isimler resmi olarak kullanılmıyor olsa da bu anlatıdaki izleğe göre bu isimlerin tarihsel süreç içindeki değişimi ve anlatının mekânla
ilişkisi ele alınmıştır.
verything that is experienced about people occurs in a place and is kept in memory for generations with the name of the place in question. "I" and "we" play an important role in the formation of identity. In this context, place names provide information about people's values, beliefs and lifestyles. It also contains different connotations, cultural hinterland, ethnic and philological wealth. In a legend told in Karakoçan district of Elazig, there are the stories of 7 brothers and the villages named after these 7 brothers. Although these names are not used officially today, according to the story in this narrative, the change of these names in the historical process and the relationship of the narrative to the space will be discussed.
