Multifocal lenses are advanced
optical products that combine distant, intermediate, and near vision zones
within a single lens. Thanks to these features, they provide both aesthetic and
functional solutions for individuals with multiple visual needs, such as those
with presbyopia. These lenses, which facilitate focusing at different distances
in daily life, offer significant comfort by eliminating the need to constantly
switch between different pairs of glasses. In recent years, advancements in
multifocal lens technology have attracted attention not only in terms of
optical quality but also with design options tailored to personal needs.
Digital measurement systems and lens-centering techniques optimized according
to facial and ocular structures have significantly increased user satisfaction.
These developments have not only enhanced the visual
comfort of eyeglass users but have also led to notable changes in the optical
retail sector in terms of service quality, customer satisfaction, and
personalized product offerings. Visual technology products are no longer solely
medical solutions; they have become strategic business products that stand at
the center of marketing, sales, customer relations, and consultancy services.
In this context, both the technical and economic aspects of multifocal lenses
are considered together. This study will address the technical structure,
optical advantages, and user experiences of multifocal spectacle lenses, as
well as the business dimension of the optical sector, and will include
literature-supported evaluations within the context of service delivery and
customer satisfaction.
