Özet
Seismic base isolators systems are designed to dampen vibrations and reduce structural response. This study is about optimal design of a seismic base isolator for structure under ground vibrations. The control performance of the isolator was investigated when optimized considering only one of the acceleration and displacement factors. The harmony search algorithm was used and the objective function was determined based on the acceleration and displacement effect values. Critical earthquake analyses were performed for the obtained optimal isolator characteristics, and the isolator performance was compared for objective functions considering only acceleration and only displacement. According to the results obtained, it was seen that when only acceleration was effective in the objective function and displacement control was low compared to the objective function using only displacement. In the optimization application based on displacement, a good acceleration reduction was achieved in addition to displacement control.
