Özet

This chapter examines the role of digital competencies in advancing sustainability within women’s entrepreneurship and in strengthening women entrepreneurs’ sustained participation in the digital ecosystem. An entrepreneur is commonly defined as an individual who develops and delivers products or services to meet economic or social needs. By its nature, entrepreneurship involves risk-taking and the transformation of new ideas or knowledge into tangible economic activities and outcomes. Advances in information technologies have facilitated the transformation, dissemination, utilization, and sharing of knowledge in digital form. Entrepreneurs operating on digital platforms increasingly participate in the sharing economy, leveraging digital skills to generate value. In this context, digital competencies constitute a critical determinant of competitive advantage. Women entrepreneurs who enhance their digital competencies and effectively utilize digital tools contribute directly and indirectly to sustainability across economic, social, and environmental dimensions. By strengthening digital capabilities, women entrepreneurs can reinforce both their resilience and their long-term presence within digitally mediated markets.
