Abstract

Since automotive industry is accepted as locomotive of the economy and triggers many other sectors, it influences the global economy of the country. Automotive industry is the major branch that involves a key industry. Relevant Ministries, TUBITAK and private sector associations make separate studies about Turkey automotive industry and automobile manufacturing strategies. Also these studies are shared with the public. All of the strategic studies are on the same vision. However, the blending of all the studies and determination of focused strategies are needed. Aim of the study is to contribute to the creation of strategies for the production of Turkey patented cars. In the study, information was collected from producers, workers and academics who have different backgrounds and education level. Decision model was established by considering auto selection criteria and SWOT analysis and model is solved with fuzzy AHP. In this study, a survey which consists of five main criteria and 15 sub-criteria that has an effect on auto selection was applied to various segments of society with questions according to the AHP model. The survey participants who are from different educational level have direct or indirect relation with automobile sector.
