Abstract
With the development of technology, many developments are taking place in the fields of
health, engineering, education and management. In order to survive in an intensely competitive
environment, businesses have had to keep up with the times, that is, re-adapt themselves to the
current situation. The development of technology has begun to show itself in the fields of
management, which is one of the most important issues for the existence of businesses, and the
concepts of manager and leadership have also entered a process of change. In this context, the
development of technology and the expectations of the new generation target audience, which
we call the new generation, a mass developed by this technology, have tended to differ. The
new generation, which constitutes the majority of the population and is referred to in the
literature as Generation Z, was formed by young people born after 2000. They grew up with
the internet and digital environment from an early age. As the first social representatives of the
virtual world, this generation is good-natured, wants to trust others, is fearless, likes to take
models, is deductive, anxious, trusts in technology and is risk-averse. Explaining an event to
this generation needs to be based on realism, proven and explained with its results, advantages
and disadvantages. At this point, Generation Z wants to see exemplary leaders and managers as
role models in the field of management. This study is a descriptive study designed to draw a
framework about what the leadership model that the new generation will take as a role model
in the field of management should be, the expectations of the generation, and what
characteristics a leader should have.
