Özet

This study presents an efficient Laplace-domain Complementary Functions Method (CFM) for the free and forced vibration analysis of laterally loaded piles. The pile–soil system is modeled using continuously distributed independent springs, with depth-dependent lateral stiffness defined by the soil stiffness parameter and variation coefficient. The shear deformation is considered based on the first order shear deformation theory. The governing ordinary differential equations are derived in canonical first-order form, transformed into the Laplace domain, and solved using CFM with a fifth-order Runge–Kutta algorithm. Natural frequencies are computed from the homogeneous system using the zero-determinant condition. In transient analysis, several time-dependent lateral loads, including step, impulsive, sinusoidal, half-sine, and sawtooth functions, are transformed into the Laplace domain, and displacement responses are recovered using the modified Durbin inverse transform. The results show that increasing soil stiffness raises natural frequencies and generally reduces displacement amplitudes, while fixed-head piles exhibit smaller lateral responses than free-head piles.
