The relationship between space, power, and surveillance has long been a subject of interest across various disciplines. However, the existing literature does not offer a comprehensive framework that centers space as a means of producing power and as an ideological apparatus. In film and literary studies, space is mostly addressed at the level of representation, whereas in dystopia studies it often remains confined to a background function. Studies focusing on digital platform series, on the other hand, examine spatial representations in a fragmented manner. Therefore, there is a need for a comprehensive reading model that foregrounds the constitutive role of space in serial narratives. This study selects the digital platform series Severance (2022-) as a focal point to address this need. The series’ architectural construction renders space not as a site where power is represented, but as a realm where power is actively produced.
