Sıvının çalkalanması sonucu oluşan kuvvetlerden faydalanarak kontrol sağlayan içi sıvı ile dolu tank içeren sönümleyiciler, ayarlı kütle sönümleyicileri için bir alternatiftir. Bu bölümde ayarlı sıvı sönümleyicilerinin tasarımında kullanılabilecek lineer formüller sunulmuş ve hareket denkleminin modellenmesi kısaca anlatılmıştır. Tek serbestlik dereceli sistemler için ayarlı sıvı sönümleyicilerinin performansı sunulmuştur.
Dampers containing tanks filled with liquid, which provide control by taking advantage of the forces resulting from the shaking of the liquid, are an alternative to tuned mass dampers. In this section, linear formulas that can be used in the design of tuned liquid dampers are presented and modeling of the equation of motion is briefly explained. Performance of tuned liquid dampers for single degree of freedom systems is presented.
