Seismic base isolators are effective control devices that work in reducing structural acceleration and displacement control for damping structural vibrations. They stand out with their high acceleration reduction performances, especially in absorbing earthquake-induced vibrations. This study focuses on determining optimum control system design properties for concrete and steel structure examples with different natural damping under various earthquake loads. For this purpose, a seismic isolator was placed on a single-story structure base for the example. Various earthquakes were simulated for concrete and steel structure types via Matlab Simulink and transmitted to the structures and optimum isolator properties were searched. In the study, the parameters of an isolator with a 30% damping limit and 50 cm movement capability were optimized with the Jaya algorithm, a metaheuristic algorithm, using 0.5s and 1s periods for the structure examples. Structural analyses were performed with the optimum isolator parameters obtained, and the isolator control performance of concrete and steel structures with different damping was compared.
