The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into organizational processes is fundamentally transforming leadership roles and practices, necessitating leadership approaches that preserve human agency while leveraging technological capabilities. Grounded in leadership theories (transformational, servant, syncretic leadership), human-centered artificial intelligence (HCAI), and the principles of Industry 5.0, this study aims to develop a conceptual framework for human-centered leadership in AI-augmented business organizations. Using a qualitative integrative literature review methodology, this research synthesizes theoretical, empirical, and practitioner-oriented sources published between 2018 and 2025 to identify key leadership roles, characteristics, and challenges emerging in AI-enabled environments. Keywords and Boolean operators were used to refine queries, including combinations such as "human-centered leadership" AND "artificial intelligence," "AI leadership" AND "Industry 5.0," "human-AI collaboration" AND "business organizations," "syncretic leadership" AND "AI," "emotion AI" AND "leadership," and "ethical AI leadership." Thematic analysis was applied to dataset and analysis findings reveals that effective human-centered leadership is characterized by ethical vigilance, empathy, adaptive decision-making, and the ability to foster meaningful human AI collaboration. The findings culminate in a framework that integrates leadership theories, AI augmentation principles, and Industry 5.0 values to promote organizational resilience, sustainability, and employee well-being. This study contributes to leadership and AI literature by offering a structured, theory-driven framework that emphasizes augmentation over automation and positions leaders as facilitators of ethical and human-centric technological transformation.
