Özet

This paper describes a practical approach to perform a quantitative assessment of the amount of storage required to enhance system reliability and firm up wind power. Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) is used with full AC power flow model to calculate reliability indices and to quantify the amount of storage required to mitigate the variation of wind power and improve the system reliability. The method is applied to the IEEE reliability test system (RTS). The results of several case studies show the effectiveness of the proposed method for sizing the energy storage that enhance the system reliability.
