Özet

Abstract

Organizational culture is an important aspect of strategic management and serves as the basis for sustainable competitive advantage. In the age of globalization, digitalization, competition, and rapid environmental change, it is recognized that not only are strategic planning methods crucial to an organization, but so is a strong and cohesive organizational culture. In that regard, the chapter explores the role of culture in strategic decision-making, strategy setting, and strategy implementation processes through values, norms, beliefs, and behavior patterns. From the beginning of the chapter, the theoretical foundation of organizational culture and strategic management is discussed, and the relationship between them is investigated with the help of the literature. We also discuss current organizational challenges, such as digital transformation, remote working models, generational differences, and uncertainty, and how they affect organizational culture and strategic management. The chapter explains that organizational culture is more than just a social structure of organizations; it is a fundamental factor that guides and informs strategic management. In order to be effective strategic managers, we suggest that organizations must align the cultural values of the organization with its strategy and create organizational structures that are adaptable and capable of learning. By integrating organizational culture with strategic management processes, it can be implemented more quickly to respond to environmental uncertainty and achieve long-term success.
