With the advancement of technology, the number of textual data kept in electronic form is increasing day by day. It is now of great importance of produce summary from textual data and verify its consistency with original resources. If the summary is abstractive, then it needs somehow approve summary information. Semantic analysis plays important role in the automatic document verification process, and it is the purpose of this study. Firstly, important studies that apply different types of semantic measurement techniques are discussed in general. Then, the basic components of semantic analysis are listed. Moreover, the relationships between these components are specified. Subsequently, the metrics used in semantic analysis measurement are comprehensively given. Finally, open problems related to semantic analysis in the document verification process are dealed with discussions.
