Abstract

The Gibbs-Thomson coefficient, solid-liquid interface energy and grain boundary energy of solid bismuth in Bi-Cd liquid solution have been determined from the observed grain boundary groove shapes. The thermal conductivities of the solid and liquid phases at the eutectic composition and temperature have also been measured. © 2004 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
