International Symposium on Advances in Computational Heat Transfer, CHT 1997, Çeşme, Türkiye, 26 - 30 Mayıs 1997
This is a numerical study of natural convection in a two-dimensional square cavity containing a uniformly distributed internal heat source which is changed sinusoidally with time. The cavity has solid walls of constant temperature. It is shown numerically that resonance can occur if the frequency of the periodic driving force is equal to any one of the fimdamental natural frequencies of the cavity flow. The effect of an oscillating internal heat source on the temperature and fluid fields, average Nusselt numbers on the walls will be presented for different amplitudes and periods of internal energy source.
