Dr. Yunus Şahinler is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Istanbul Gelişim University, Türkiye. His research focuses on sport psychology, exercise psychology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, wearable technologies, sport performance, precision exercise, psychometrics, and physical activity for individuals with disabilities. His work integrates multidisciplinary approaches to advance research and practice in sport and health sciences.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Şahinler has authored and co-authored more than 120 scientific publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles, books, book chapters, and conference proceedings, making significant contributions to the scientific literature. He also serves as a reviewer and editor for international scientific journals and actively participates in national and international research projects.
In addition to his academic career, Dr. Şahinler serves as the National Wheelchair Tennis Team Coach of Türkiye, contributing to athlete development and representing the country in international competitions. His applied research emphasizes neurocognitive performance, mental resilience, brain-based performance analysis, and the integration of wearable sensor technologies and artificial intelligence into sport performance and health sciences.
Dr. Şahinler has completed extensive professional training in Pedagogical Formation, Psychological First Aid, General Psychology, Basic Psychology, Family Psychology, Motivation and Stress Management, Anger and Stress Control, Consciousness Analysis, Leadership and Motivation, Public Speaking and Communication Skills, Effective Communication and Body Language, Effective Speaking and Diction, and Primary School Education for Children Aged 6–12. These certifications complement his interdisciplinary expertise by combining educational sciences, psychology, communication, and athlete development.
Committed to interdisciplinary research and innovation, Dr. Şahinler continues to collaborate nationally and internationally to advance evidence-based practices in sport sciences, neuroscience, psychology, and emerging technologies. Through his research, teaching, and professional activities, he aims to contribute to the improvement of athletic performance, mental well-being, and public health.
